Julia Dragon.

The Julia dragon was constructed using a computer programme called “Ultra Fractal” and is based on the classic Mandelbrot and Julia structures modified by a mathematician called Shigehiro Ushiki. The dragon or cloud shape comes from reiterated elements in exponentially growing and receding proportion.

Black & white print, digital fractal image using an “Ultrafractal” programme. 200 mm x 200 mm (7.8 x 7.8 ins).

Shamsa geometry.

A study in geometry. Ruled lines of pure gold and silver on indigo-dyed paper build up a twelve pointed star which grows exponentially from the centre.

Shamsa Installation.

The design and structure of a twelve pointed shamsa is used here for the stairwell installation of large steel structures, finished in white and mirror polish.

Laser-cut powder-coated steel, coated on both sides, contains holes for fixing - can be either wall-mounted or suspended. 1 m diameter (39.5 ins), 3mm thick steel.
