Copper engraved. 445 x 400mm. (17.5 x 15.75ins). Minor loss and soiling to extremity of lower right margin not effecting printed area. 1747.

Contains a fine vignette showing elephants etc. and text including ‘No part of the World affords so great plenty of Diamonds & those of the Best Water, as Gani or Coulour in Golconda....If a diamond exceeds 20 Carets ‘tis claimed by the King....’.

Emanuel Bowen, an engraver, publisher and mapseller, was active in London between 1720 and 1767. His prodigious output both as an engraver and publisher earned him recognition in England and France. He held the dual appointment of Engraver to both George II and Louis XV of France.
